I'm back... again...

now, i know this isn't much, but it is a start. yes, there will be more pictures. yes, there will be more family news. yes, i have read more books that i'd like to share about. i just figured that if i shared this recipe at least you all would know that i'm still alive... and that is a good thing to know! so.... at long last, Sara Beth, here is the recipe for the oatmeal cookies i sent to Betsy! Enjoy!

Cinnamon Chip Oatmeal Cookies

1c butter
½ c white sugar
¾ c brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ tsp nutmeg
1 ½ c flour
3 c quick cooking oatmeal
1 10oz bag of cinnamon chips

· Cream together butter and sugars. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well. Mix in baking soda and spices. Mix in flour. Mix in oats. Mix in chips.
· Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 12 minutes at 375 degrees using size #40 scoop. Makes about 3 ½ dozen cookies.

where do you get cinnamon chips? Happy Valentine's Day!

Hershey's makes cinnamon chips. i found them in the grocery store next to the chocolate chips. i got them at Christmas time and have had a hard time finding them since. i did find them recently in another bigger town, so i know they weren't just a seasonal item.
