today. Sam is back in Bolivia. Got an e-mail tonite and he is back in Cochabamba staying with his host family for a bit as he gets ready to go packing. Was good to hear from him. We had gotten an "i'm here and ok" on Wednesday, but it's always nice to have a bit more to fill in the empty spaces. Marilyn is back at school going through sticker shock once more as she buys books for this semester. They fumigated the dorm over break so she had to put her room back together as well when she got back. Braden is back in school as well. He was interviewed by the TV station last week. i can't find a way to get a copy of the video, but this link will get you to a written story. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22563382/from/ET/ We also found out that he was nominated for the All-City Middle School Band that will perform in April.
Me... i've been enjoying a book called Cajas de Cartón...Cardboard Boxes. It's a children's chapter book written in spanish. it is a memoir of a man whose family immigrated from Mexico when he was a little boy. it's my effort to keep practicing over break. i need to look up all kinds of words, but it's good vocabulary building and practice for verb tenses. A fun way to keep reviewing! Tomorrow i get a real treat. i am going to visit my friend who lives at Sacred Heart Monastery. i love going to Sacred Heart. it's a breath of fresh air for me. a time of "being" instead of "doing". I'm hoping to fill this time before class starts for me again with all kinds of odds and ends that have been sitting on the back burner for awhile. ¡Chau!
